THE BEST SEATS:
The Daytona 500 is often referred to as “The Great American Race”. This very popular event typically sells out every year. The 2 ½ mile oval seats 168,700 fans. Because the infield is relatively free from view blocking structures, many seats provide views of most, if not the entire track. You should look for seats in the towers for the best views of the speedway. If that is not possible, then look for seats in rows higher than row 22. Seats in rows 22 and lower have a limited view of the track and are less desirable.

TICKET OPTIONS:
In addition to race tickets, you may want to consider ticket options which include pre-race access to the pits and drivers, or even tickets to preliminary racing events, such as the Nationwise Drive4COPD 300, which is run the day before the 500. Any number of options can be purchased through the speedway or from secondary online ticket venders.

BEST SOURCES FOR PURCHASE:
There are several ways to purchase tickets. The most obvious way is to purchase them directly from the Daytona International Speedway. By purchasing your tickets directly from the speedway itself, you eliminate the chance of buying a counterfeit ticket and you will be paying face value for your seat. Please note, however, that the closer you get to race day, the smaller the Speedway’s ticket inventory will be. As their ticket inventory is reduced, the chance of purchasing a great seat will also be reduced.

You may find better ticket selections at one of the many online ticket vendors who resell tickets for the Daytona 500 and many other events. This website, the Daytona500Guide is an affiliate of TicketsNow.Com, which is the online ticket reseller for Ticket Master, the largest and most respected ticket agency in the world.

WHEEL CHAIR SEATING:
Wheelchair seating is limited. Call the Ticket Office at 1-800-748-7467 for more information, or look online for tickets designated W/C for wheelchair.

HOW TO AVOID SCAMS:
Follow these rules to help guard against the risk of fraud.

DON’T PAY CASH: Fans who pay cash for their tickets have no way of tracking where their money goes. If they pay cash for tickets that later turn out to be counterfeit or stolen, they will have no way to track down the scam artist.
• For E-Bay purchases, look for the Seller’s feedback rating below the seller’s name. Reliable and honest sellers typically have very high ratings at or above 98%.
• Verify your ticket broker is licensed by the state where they operate from and that they are members of the National Association of Ticket Brokers.
• Look for guarantees from substantial companies. A 100% money back guarantee from a guy named Vinney selling tickets on the corner is worth nothing.
• Use a major credit card to make your purchase. If you do get scammed, your credit card company will typically delete the charge associated with your ticket purchase provided you cooperate and provide them with information they can later use to prosecute the scam artist.
• If you buy from a street scalper, pay only with a check. Insist on taking the sellers name and driver’s license. If they don’t have a driver’s license or refuse to give you that information, then walk away. Please note that scalping is illegal in many venues. The extent to which a local ordinance will be enforced is any body’s guess.
• If the price for tickets is too good to be true, then it probably is.
